Man United's chances of finishing in the top four are further harmed as they are held by Leicester.

MANCHESTER UNITED DROPPED MORE VALUE POINTS in Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Leicester, falling farther behind in the race for Champions League status next season.

With the draw at Old Trafford, Ralf Rangnick's stuttering side is now three points behind Arsenal, who have two games in hand.

United, who were without top scorer Cristiano Ronaldo due to illness, looked anemic in attack for the majority of the first half, struggling to find any attacking rhythm.

In the 27th minute, Bruno Fernandes, who recently signed a new contract with United, was pushed through by Fred, but the Portuguese playmaker failed to make clean contact, and Kasper Schmeichel saved with his outstretched left foot.

At the halftime break, the score remained 0-0.

In the early minutes of the second half, United looked crisper, although midfielder Scott McTominay was lucky to stay on the field after a nasty-looking challenge on James Maddison.

Interim manager Rangnick brought in Marcus Rashford to replace McTominay and give some zip to the home side's assault.

When a United attack broke down and Maddison attacked down the left, the visitors took the lead in the 63rd minute.

Former Manchester City striker Iheanacho headed past David de Gea, who got a touch to the ball but couldn't keep it out, after the England international supplied a superb left-footed cross.

However, Leicester's lead was short-lived, as United equalized just three minutes later.

After the visitors failed to clear their lines effectively, the ball broke for Fernandes, and Fred slashed into the roof of the net.

Leicester had opportunities to reclaim the lead.

De Gea made an amazing fingertip save to keep out a goal-bound header from Wesley Fofana after Inheancho lifted the ball over the crossbar from a tight angle.

Leicester remained the more dangerous team, and with around 10 minutes remaining, Maddison finished at the back post to put the ball in the net.

However, the goal was overruled due to Iheanacho's foul on Raphael Varane.

Late in the game, United piled up the pressure but were unable to score a winner.
